Fire Water Systems
The first Mini flow was supplied to the Skarv platform. For operations of this nature, it was projected that a steady water flow of 1 cubic meter per hour would be adequate to prevent freezing. The flow can be modified using an adjustable constraint on the drain line.
The Mini flow’s inlet is located beneath the top of the storage tank. The pipe length is designed to meet the system’s specifications. The volume above this inlet represents the trapped air volume that provides the minimum deceleration force needed to prevent damaging pressure spikes. This volume becomes crucial when the firewater pumps rapidly supply water to the storage tank, especially when the initial gas pressure might be low for any reason.
